Kevin Voorhees

General Manager / Project Consultant

My name is Kevin Voorhees and I began my career at M&E Painting in 2009 as the power washer – cleaning the exterior of houses before we painted them. The following year I made the shift to sales/estimating and that has been my primary focus ever since. I really enjoy meeting new people every day and helping them accomplish their painting projects.

I’m married to Kallie and we have three sons: Camden, Grady and Declan. We enjoy spending time together with our extended family, friends and being in the outdoors. When I’m not working or with my family, I like to fly fish.

I enjoy being a part of a locally/family-owned, small business that cares about their team members and gives back to the communities we are a part of. M&E Painting has given me many tremendous opportunities to grow and develop both personally and professionally. We have a great team, are set up to serve our clients very well and look forward to the opportunity to work with you!

Jim Grimm

Project Consultant

Hello, my name is Jim Grimm and I am an estimator at M&E Painting and M&E Roofing Solutions. I enjoy assisting customers with projects that improve their home or business in an easy and enjoyable way. One of my ongoing goals is to make someone’s day better than it was before they ran into me.

I grew up in Denver and attended Cherry Creek schools from kindergarten through high school. From there, I went to CSU and studied English and Human Resources. In that time frame, my main focus was soccer and snow skiing. At the age of 16, I was fortunate enough to travel to West Germany for a month playing competitive soccer which is an experience I will never forget. My wife Kelly and I have been married for 20 years and we have a 14 year old son and 12 year old daughter. The kids are involved in soccer and volleyball which keeps us very busy and turned our vehicles into taxis. As a family, we enjoy bike riding, going to the pool and taking trips to the mountains in the summertime. We are also big fans of the Colorado sports teams as well as NASCAR racing.

Professionally, I have spent the bulk of my career in the auto and RV industries. Working at a dealership for close to 25 years, I was more than ready for a change which is what brought me to M&E. I am very blessed to be working at a small, local company now that has an incredible vision and team. We all share the same goals to work hard, support the community and make customer satisfaction the highest priority. Please feel free to reach out to us for any painting or roofing needs, we look forward to serving you!

Matt Shoup

President

Hello, it’s nice to meet you. My name is Matt Shoup, and I am the President of M & E Painting. I am a Jesus follower, husband, father, serial entrepreneur, author, keynote speaker, Spain aficionado, aspiring paella chef, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and Spanish coffee addict.

In March of 2005, I was laid off from a mortgage banking job that I really hated. It was the best, worst day of my life. I remember leaving the bank wondering how I would support my family. I was recently married, six figures in debt, and down to my last $100. My wife, Emily, and I founded M&E Painting with our last $100 that same day. As we began to get our heads above water, we committed to growing M&E Painting, and focusing on contributing to the Northern Colorado community in big ways.

Over the years, M&E Painting has been named a Top Small Workplace in the United States by INC Magazine and Winning Workplaces, one of the country’s fastest-growing companies by INC 5000, and has received the Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for Business Ethics. It is very important to Emily and I that we continue to create and foster a company built on ethics, integrity, opportunity and contribution here in Northern Colorado.

We have grown over the years because of the hard work and loyal dedication of our amazing team members. All of them are wonderful people with amazing stories. The common thread that bonds us all together is their belief in our shared mission and purpose.

“We exist to enhance the community, inspire leaders and impact lives.”

Over the last 20 years of growing M&E Painting, I realized my passion not only for entrepreneurship but also for inspiring and encouraging other small business leaders. This passion has led me down the road of founding other companies and ventures, writing books, and sharing my story around the world. I have founded multiple companies and ventures including:

M&E Real Estate Ventures, Shoup Commercial, RiRy: Makers of the Pirate Patch Drywall Repair Tool, Northern Colorado Jiu JitsuCafé Sevilla, and MattShoup.com.

Thanks for stopping by to learn more about me. If you are ever in the Loveland area, I would love it if you would stop by and have a Spanish coffee with me at our coffee bar, Café Sevilla. To learn more about me, please visit MattShoup.com.
